Don’t be too hasty in chasing the girl. I see men psyching themselves to get the girl but when you start looking at their personal lives, you would see that they have a lot of work to do to even be attractive to the opposite sex. I’m not saying physical attractiveness but rather personal development.

There is no guarantee that if you prepare yourself, you get the girl but it would really help a gazillion fold to upgrade yourself, be more intellectually stimulating, to be a man with a plan before pursuing a girl. It cannot be all zeal when you are pursuing a girl. There are non negotiable things if you want to marry a decent girl.

Whoever said that one must finish college first before getting into a relationship must have never really experienced the real college life. It’s truly much easier than done. Everyday is a battlefield as you see couples walking hand in hand along the hallways, hearing your friends with their latest kilig moments or even seeing people giving roses and gifts every Valentine’s Day. With this kind of setting, it’s a struggle to feel contented and secured with the single life. I’m sure that most if not all of us have fallen to this trap– the deceit that makes us think that we’re alone and lonely. Because of this, we have given into the temptation and have plunged in a relationship, just because. I remember asking one of my guy friends who’s in a relationship if he sees his girlfriend as his future wife. He immediately dismisses the thought and thinks it’s absurd, saying that it’s too early to be thinking of that. He even dissents about women being over-thinkers when we should just be having fun and enjoying each other’s company. My heart broke as I heard this and got alarmed to know that this has unfortunately, been what more and more guys believe as they are engulfed by all the world’s patterns. No wonder why more and more women’s hearts break each day. Romans 12:2 Do NOT conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. Don’t be a man of the world, be a man of the Word. Before any protests, I’m not saying that being in a relationship during college is wrong but I believe that it entails wisdom and submission to understand that there’s a right time for everything and a calling for every season. In college, we are called to be students and be excellent at that. One must have at least a good foundation in academics in order to get into a good job or business. Having a girfriend will have its costs and one of them is time, which is very hard to sacrifice given your calling. Just think of it this way, college will only take you several years and after that, you have all the time to search for that right woman. Answer what you’re called to do now and that is to be an excellent student and a man going through training, which brings me to my next point. Imagine college as a military training that will not only test you but also mold you to that strong-willed man. This is the foundation– just like a building, the taller it is, the deeper is its foundation. This will prepare you for the future battles you’ll be faced with as you get married and establish a family. In addition to this, be a man of prayer and submission. For some of you, there may be already a woman in their hearts and I admire those who have not followed their possibly deceitful heart but instead, have surrendered it to God and believing that He has already set someone apart just for him hence submitting not to his own desire but His. Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? Therefore, be a Superman today! You don’t need to wear the blue suit, a red cape and fly around the streets of the busy city. Be a superhero by saving that woman’s heart from breaking by seeking God first before anything and everything.
